Violation Type:General Disloyalty
A device is, in some general or specific capacity, disloyal to its rightful owner in favour of loyalty to some other entity, typically its nominal manufacturer.
This often takes the form of restrictive code signing (OSIGN*), commonly referred to as Tivoization, but there are many other forms. This violation type is used to describe any device which exhibits a mode of deliberate disloyalty to a rightful owner which is not described by any other violation type.
In order to qualify, the manner of disloyalty must substantially appear to be deliberate, and must not be plausibly explicable by other means. (Did they do X to try and stop users excercising control of their devices, or just because that's cheaper or a more obvious way to do things?)
