Mandatory Shutter Sound

Some jurisdictions have legislation requiring cameras or cameraphones without an electromechanical (that is, noise-producing) shutter to emit an audible noise when taking a photograph.

This legislation was introduced due to voyeurism concerns. It is particularly silly as it is entirely inapplicable to video recording, which many of these devices can also do.

Compliance with such legislation constitutes a violation.
